Training objectives and target audiences

Specific and involving multiple faculties, this training is for meteorologists, scientists, students and professionals working in the field to enable them to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the implementation of planned and effective in communication and managing climate risks.

In addition to responding to a growing need in the field of hydrometeorological risk management nationally and internationally, this course will contribute to the following:

  • The optimization of weather and climate services to support emergency management;
  • Understanding the linkages between hydro-meteorological hazards, how these impact users, what are the associated risks, and how can communication influence the outcome, or the management of responses to these hazards.
  • In communication and risk management to facilitate decision-making in the context of CC and the likely evolution of extreme hydrometeorological hazards.
